The Middle

When we’re in the thick of caring for a loved human with a chronic mental or physical illness, we wear far more than one hat or two. Our days can seem endless or not long enough. Our nights zoom by or inch forward. Sometimes we’re mesmerized by longing for the middle ground we once had; a life unpainted with our loved ones’ pain. Sometimes we’re engulfed by the question: Why? Sometimes we’re grateful for the present moment.

Nine times out of 10, on some level, we feel like we’re alone. And we keep it a secret. All ways, all days. Until now, that is. 

What happens on days when it feels like there’s too much of...well...everything going on? How do we intentionally experience significant (sometimes) laugh-your-pants-off moments with our chronically ill loved humans and other important people in our lives? Here you’ll find raw, wise reflections on who we become in the middle.
